December 18-24, 1970 / Lucerne trip: The famous Lion Monument, carved out of solid rock, commemorated the 760 Swiss guards and officers who perished in 1792 defending the French Monarchy in Paris.
December 18-24, 1970 / Lucerne trip: After lunch in a busy beer hall-like cafeteria one afternoon, Anne Marie and I were a little tipsy when we began a casual afternoon stroll to walk off our substantial meal. The main street we chose eventually became a smaller roadway, and we were soon meandering up into the suburbs... (see next slide caption to continue)
