March 19-22, 1971 / Freiburg & Todtnau Trip: I wanted to check out where my most adored philosopher Martin Heidegger lived, and because of a bit of misinformation, I thought it was the black forest town of Todtnau. It turned out it was yet higher up into the hills in a smaller town called Todtnauberg. I silently cursed Walter Kaufmann for the “typo” in the introduction to his translation of Heidegger’s "Existence and Being," where I procured the vital information.
